Who we are

Smith Family Flooring LLC is a family-owned flooring contractor based in the Newton / Stillwater, New Jersey area. Owners include Chris Smith (Christian Smith) and Kelly Critchlaw. Chris has 15+ years of commercial union floor-laying experience. The company was incorporated on November 29, 2023, and the residential business started on January 23, 2024. We do not claim "15 years in business" for the company; that experience belongs to Chris personally.

We work directly with homeowners. You get an installer who measures, recommends materials when needed, and installs, without a big-box retail markup in the middle.

Installation-only option

Already bought the flooring you love? We offer installation-only. We install customer-supplied material when the product and site conditions are suitable for a proper install.

What we install and restore

Luxury vinyl plank (LVP), luxury vinyl tile (LVT), hardwood, engineered wood, laminate, carpet, VCT, hardwood sanding and refinishing, subfloor repair, self-leveling, commercial flooring, and in-home measure and sample visits.
